Unit 3 – Task

What other interesting examples of codes from history or the modern-day (digital or non-digital) can you find to inspire or support a lesson about encoding and decoding messages?

I found this resource on pinterest. https://pin.it/iwGqLIC it is a binary coding for the alphabet. I feel this would be a good way to teach children in the middle primary years how to write cryptic messages. they would need to know the key and understand how to use it. it is a little more complex so it would require to follow basic foundational education on encoding and decoding.

another resource i have used previously ( however i don’t have a copy is using picture graphs as a way to convey a message. for example a sentence could be written in words and pictures and the reader requires to decode the pictures into words.
