Egyptian Codes from History
Egyptian Hieroglyphics had baffled historians for centuries with people being unable to read them for around 1500 years after the last inscription in around 5th century AD.
It was only with the discovery of the Rosetta stone, which listed the same passage in 3 languages including Greek, that allowed historians to crack the code.
Historians used known Greek words, matching them to hieroglyphics as the key to this code. This gave historians access to the culture and language of Ancient Egypt.
This could be the introduction to a lesson about coding.
