The resource I found to support teaching students in the primary years about information sharing and safe communication is the ‘The Lost Summer’. This resource is a video game designed for students between the ages of 10-14, which consists of 5x 20-minute games. The resource is an interactive and engaging way to get students to think about being safe on the internet when communicating and sharing information. The game accommodates and builds students skill and knowledge in the following areas; accessing support, bystanders, cyberbullying, digital resilience, online security, privacy and personal information, and respectful online relationships. I believe this resource would be effective for the upper primary sector as it engages students while informing them on critical information needed when being online.
