Although I knew my phone captured EXIF data and can show me where I took photos and then assorts them into places around the world they were taken, I did not realise this information could all be shared publicly. A scary thought which is useful to know!
Other ways in which us humans can leave traces of information through technology includes website cookies (also called HTTP cookies) which is the reason why when you google a product you’re looking to buy, such as jeans, you suddenly get multiple ads from multiple brands on your browsers and social network pages. Your computer stores this information and uses it for marketing/ad preferences.
