I found an interesting lesson plan online for years 3-6 where students create their own secure passwords in order to protect their private information. I think this lesson is a great way to introduce students to secures passwords and why it is important we have them. To begin the lesson questions like “What do you think could happen if someone got hold of your password?” and “What are examples of how you use passwords when you use electronic devices?” are used to engage students and get them thinking about the consequences of not having secure passwords. Students can then be introduced to the do’s and don’ts of creating secure passwords with the information sheet provided and create their own. As a class, they discuss each other’s passwords and identify if they are secure or not. I think this is a great way to introduce students to secure passwords and would be a beneficial lesson to use within a classroom. #primary
