Students can develop their understanding of encoding / decoding by following this simple format:
Each letter of the alphabet is written out in their correct order and then numbered with ‘A’ = 1, ‘B’ = 2, ‘C’ = 3… etc.
This way students can apply this method of decoding through their learning and understand the concept.
I have attached a worksheet following this method of decoding and encoding in relation to penguin facts. This shows such method can be attached to units of work and incorporated in a multitude of ways.
