I would share with students the video below that discusses the Voynich Manuscript.

After watching the video, I would get students to work separately to create their own encrypted code to ‘crack’. Once the students had finalised their code, they would work swap with a partner and work on their decrypting abilities, to find the message within the encryption.

Prior to this lesson students would have learned about different forms of encryption such as Caesar’s cypher.
