Q.2) Create or find a classroom resource that teaches students about creating strong passwords, passcodes or passphrases.
Our school enjoys playing a game called “This is me” which could be adapted to test students on the strength of their passwords. All students stand up and the teacher calls out the phrase “This is me if….” followed by a phrase. For example “This is me if my password has no symbols”. Students sit down if the phrase applies to them, in this example if a student has a password with no symbols, they must then sit down. The last person standing is crowned the winner, indicating they have implemented strong password strategies.
The game can be played with students creating fake passwords each round, in attempt to create stronger passwords each time and to ensure they do not give away their real passwords to others. The game should help students to identify what makes a strong password, determine the strength of their current passwords and highlight where improvements can be made.
