- What are some primary-friendly “scam scenarios” that you could use in the classroom for encouraging students to critically think about messages they receive? Create your own “fake scam” to share with the community so they can try and spot the tell-tale signs!
Scam scenarios include:
- Telemarketer calling asking for personal details and or bank details
- Text message or email scams such as “you have won!”
- Computer viruses
Example of fake scam as a text message:
“You have won a $500 dollar Woolworth’s voucher click here now to redeem your prize”
Students should be wary about text messages with content like this as they are more than likely to good to be true.
