Humans can leave traces of information by browsing the web, signing online petitions, using credit cards, or connecting to wireless internet.

Have students decode braille – this becomes authentic as it provides a real life example for decoding. Then have students encode their own, pair up and decode each others work.

The following video is a great resource to show to primary aged students as it provides information regarding safe information sharing and online communication through the use of animated characters.
