Task 4 – Classroom ‘Scam Scenarios” spot the fake!

In the classroom discuss different types of scams and how to recognise them.

Give students copies of three emails that have been received.

Use the emails to generate classroom discussion either as a whole or break off into groups.

Tell the students to determine which email looks legitimate and which email looks like a fake and why.

Each group can suggest their answers and then after all groups have picked which emails are fake or not, tell the class the answer and discuss their answers vs. the correct answers.

This activity will help raise awareness and understanding of scam emails and the information they could by trying to get from you.
