Students from Stage 2/3 can be presented with a fake scam based on the Among Us game. The teacher introduces the scam at the start of the lesson in a way that seems realistic, prompting students to then reflect on whether they were drawn into the scam because of their misplaced trust in the game of Among Us, or Pokemn Go or a game on Roblox depending on the specific interests of the class. The lure of the scam is too hard to resist and seems authentic, providing opportunities for students to critique the sender email, the spelling/grammar, the presence of links to click and the intent of the scam. Students leave the lesson wiser than before and less innocent in trusting their online gaming experiences.
