“Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or to what extend do you think they should be taught and why?”
Cyber security is designed by skilled professionals to protect computers, networks or data from encryption or attacks through strong testing procedures, computer science technology and systems.
Cyber awareness is the knowledge and behaviour in protecting personal information and assets. It is the awareness of data use, cyberattacks and permanent data.
Cyber safety is collaborating online responsibly through considering your digital footprint, using safe settings and sharing information thoughtfully.
I believe the cyber safety and awareness should be taught to primary school students covering every aspect of each key point. It is crucial for students of all ages to understand the importance of being safe online to ensure the safety of personal information and data.
Cyber security should be touched on in primary school including how cyber security works and how it can help prevent cyber attacks and link in with cyber safety.
