Networks are a seemingly easy component to dismiss, however, the understanding of the topic assists in the understanding of how cybersecurity works in practice, and the knowledge assists in students being cyber aware. Due to this information, I would introduce the topic first by making the content familiar to them. For example, iPhones, headphones and Bluetooth earphones, tablets, and laptops are generally devices that students have seen being used or have used themselves. Students could brainstorm a list of technological devices, then categorise them into different types of networks such as switches and routers. This activity can be done collaboratively in groups.
