Cyber security is protecting computers, networks programs and data through robust computer science technology and systems.

Cyber awareness is building our knowledge behaviours and attitudes in protecting our information and assets when using technology.

And Cyber safety is managing and collaborating online safely and responsibly.

The key differences between these three concepts are Cyber security is designing systems to protect you when using technology, Cyber awareness is an awareness and implementation of those systems so they’re harder to hack (i.e.) strong passwords. Cyber awareness also includes being aware of policies and how your data is being collected and used. Cyber safety is responsibly using your and others DATA and information.

These concepts need to be taught in full within the classroom to ensure students DATA is secure and they can use digital resources to the best of their abilities.
