As instagram is a major social media platform used by students today, I would design instagram scam scenarios to encourage students to critically think about the messages they receive. These could either be illegitimate accounts (often posing to be a well-known brand) that ask for personal details, or ‘alerts’ that ask for false log-ons for verification. It could also be used to look at phishing and instagrams reels ‘challenges’ that ask students to expose personal information (like the answers to common security questions) and so on.
One such example that could be used is the ‘Hotlist’ scam discussed on the Digital Information World: https://www.digitalinformationworld.com/2019/04/beware-the-hotlist-new-instagram-phishing-scam.html
