Unit 3: Option 2
Shugborough inscription
The Shugborough inscription is a series of letters found on an 18th century carving in Stafforshire, England. It’s meaning has never been uncovered despite many attempts to crack it’s supposed code. Some say it gives the location of the Holy Grail and others say treasure. Even Charles Darwin attempted to crack the code. This kind of mystery would be a great hook for students to learn about encryption.
