What other interesting examples of codes from history or the modern-day (digital or non-digital) can you find to inspire or support a lesson about encoding and decoding messages?
There are many examples of codes throughout history. I like “The Vigenère square” which uses a keyword to creating different Caesar shifts throughout a message. It is so difficult to decipher that it took more than three hundred years to crack (it was first discovered in 1553 and the first general method of deciphering was published in 1863 https://tinyurl.com/3xepwbbv).
