Unit 2 – Task 2

Building on the activity shared in Unit 2, students could spread themselves out in the classroom and connect themselves to another student (or a couple of other students) with string.  A ring or similar round object can then be passed from one student to another, with students working out which pathways the ring will need to take to reach the intended destination.  Multiple rings following similar routes can be introduced to show how data transfer can slow with excessive traffic, and the teacher could act as a virus and cut a selection of strings.
