Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or do you think they should be taught?
- Cyber security protects school technology infrastructure, such as networks, computers, cloud applications, and data from cyber-attacks.
- Cyber awareness refers to the level of awareness and understanding users have about cybersecurity.
- Cyber safety protects individuals from harmful online content and activities.
Cyber security is important because everything that relates to protecting our data from cyber attackers who want to steal this information and use it to cause harm. We all rely on the safety of our data and personal information. For example, when logging into an application or when filling in more sensitive data in digital systems. If these systems, networks, and infrastructures don’t have the right protection in place, our data might fall into the wrong hands. So students should be taught about cyber security to protect them when they are still studying online during the Covid-19 pandemic. If students don’t have any knowledge about security they will have risks somedays.
