Question1: Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or do you think they should be taught?
Cyber security is the protection of computer networks from theft or damage to hardware, software, and data, as well as the causes of service interruptions and diversions.
Cyber awareness is building our knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in protecting our information and assets. With cyber awareness, we will act as appropriate to reduce the risk of cyber attacks targeting your individual and organization.
Cyber safety is the safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies, including management and collaboration.
In class, I only teach some basic content about network awareness and a part about network safety to students. And in my opinion, students need to understand the risk of cyber attacks, what data to share when joining the internet, know how to use 2-factor password authentication and update software and security policies to protect your data.
