Unit 5 – Question 1

Question: Share with us your top 5-10 code of ethics statements for using technology in the classroom or your professional workplace.

I am a highschool teacher, so I think there are some essential ethics for using technology students should be taught in classes.
Firstly, students must take care of the technology equipment, avoid to download or share malware or virus.
Secondly, students should only use known and trusted digital resources such as website, images, games, videos, etc.
Thirdly, it is very important for students to understand intellectual property. Teachers need to be aware of these rules and to model them appropriately with their students.
Fourthly, students have to to raise awareness about cyberbullying and encourages people to report the issues when they come across them.
Fivethly, students should be afforded opportunities to use digital tools to gain the necessary skills in order to help them be responsible users of technology.
To have a safe cyber for everyone, the protections of technology is not enough. So, users need to gain their knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to not only manage technology equipment effectly but also collaborate online safety and responsibly.
