TASK 2(MERCY)

Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or do you think they should be taught?

Cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety are different. Cyber security means protecting network, programs, and data through robust computer technology and system. Cyber awareness means building our knowledge, attitudes and behaviour in protecting our information and assets. It is built through creating strong password and two factor anthentication, awareness of data use and misuse, awareness of cyberattacker, up to date policies and procedures. As for cyber safety, it means managing and collaborating online safely and responsibly.

Students’ use of the internet is changing fast, in response to considerable societal, market and technological innovation. More and more students get accessed to online videos, music, gaming, messaging and searching implies, their internet use is broadly positive. It   is very important to  protect  students   through cybersecurity education so that they can become aware of the potential risks they face when using internet communication tools like  the social media, chatting and online gaming. For example, they should be taught to share data thoughtfully, and be aware of cyberattack. They can also manage settings by locking the device after a a number of incorrect PIN attempts and by enabling tracking software to locate the device if stolen.
