Question 1: We have shared a few examples of how information can be extracted from data (such as in your images). What are other ways humans can leave traces of information with the use of technologies?
These days, a lot of businesses take their potential customers’ databases through digital footprints on the Internet. There are some ways that you leave your information on the Internet that you may have no idea about. Below are some specific examples:
– Service apps: While using service apps from transportation, ibanking to food delivery such as Grab, Foody, NowFood, Baemin,.., users are asked to add their personal details like location, name, phone number, taste,… Thanks to the technology, the businesses could receive the specific report of a certain customer on spending habits, financial status, location,… which will put the customers in danger of cyber criminals.
– Social media and online game platforms: As any other platforms on the Internet, users are asked to provide their identity before joining. Moreover, users on social media usually update their status such as photo, video,… and their message is also tracked by these platform’s administrators. Hackers could break the security and stalk all the users quite easily which contributes to cyber criminals.
– Black websites: These kinds of websites may not be able to take the clear identity of the users such as phone number, consuming habits,… but they can easily track the location or other information from IP addresses when users start clicking on the link.
