QTS_Unit 2_Question 1

1.Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety.

– The differences between network security, network security and cognitive network:

+ Cyber security is the practice of protecting computers, networks, programs, and data from digital attacks through security design, security controls and protection, security awareness and user behaviour. It can be characterised as a system of people who are involved in designing secure systems, people who maintain security and protection, people who educate about cyber security awareness and those who use digital tools.

+ Cyber safety (or internet safety, online safety and e-safety) is the safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). It’s the idea that we are to behave as good digital citizens when interacting and collaborating in an online space and using technologies.  There are cyber safe behaviours and cyber Ethics.

+ Cyber awareness is just as important as cyber security to understand the potential threats to safety and the knowledge and skills of users to avoid these threats.  One way to increase cyber awareness is through education and policy.

2.To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or do you think they should be taught?

– Benefits of 4.0 technology development.

– Potential threats in cyberspace.

– How to protect personal information in cyberspace:

Data and Security,

Computer Networks and Security.

However, Network security consists of the policies and practices adopted to prevent and monitor unauthorised access of a computer network, routers and other network-related resources. Network security includes protection of data and application in the network from cyber attacks (e.g. anti-malware), virtual private networks, firewall protection and network access control policies.
