QTS_Unit 3_Question 2

First and foremost, I wish to have a short introduction about :

  • Encoding a word or phrase is an example of representing data in a different way,
  • The practice of encoding (enciphering, encrypting) and decoding (deciphering, decrypting) is called cryptography,

Secondly, there are some interesting examples of codes from history such as Two simple ways of encoding are the ‘backwards alphabet code’ and the ‘shifted alphabet code’. They are easy to code but equally easy to decode (‘crack’). So that, Knowing the ‘key’ helps the decoder translate the message.

Thirdly, Encoding a word or phrase is an example of representing data in a different way. Therefore, To introduce encoding and decoding, I think we should use secret messages. Moreover, Braille is a system for representing text and other characters using combinations of flat and raised dots on paper so they can be read by touch. Morse Code represents the letters of the alphabet using dots and dashes. In addition, A QR code is another way to represent data.

To sum up, they are interesting instances to support lessons about Encoding and Decoding messages.
