Task 2_ question 1, Nguyễn Thị Ánh Điệp

I’m glad you asked and even after working in this field for while now, it made me think for a minute the difference between these two terms.

Both of these terms are have a very close meaning but there is a fine line of division that differentiates these two different words.

Cyber not just means safety of computers that we use personally or at work. It also includes the mobile device our kids use to the huge processors at a nuclear plant. Therefore, It is the safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies around us and ensuring safety of all the individuals and components that are part of it. Now this is Cyber safety

Cybersecurity on the other hand is a bigger umbrella. Making sure that your data is safe, sound and secure, your electronic assets are up and running and are not under attack. If they are under attack, how can you fed off the attackers. Is everybody following the security policies while working. Or one has already put it as the state of being protected against the criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data, or the measures taken to achieve this.

So, Cyber Safety: Fundamentally, cyber safety focuses on people while cybersecurity involves information. Cyber safety uses technology to help protect the physical and emotional well being of students, faculty, and staff on campus.

Schools need to have clear expectations as to the responsibility of all teachers in broad cyber awareness and clear plans for the integration into the curriculum in the appropriate places.

Students in Vietnam have not been deeply informed about cyber security, neither are teachers. I think this is a necessary part of learning to foster informatics teachers in high schools in order to mass foster students who can learn extra-curricular activities. Raise awareness to protect yourself.
