QTS – Unit 2 – Task – question 1

There are some differences among cyber security, cyber safety and cyber awareness. First, cyber security is the practice of defending computers, networks, programs, and data from cyber threats through security design, security controls and protection, security awareness and user behaviour. Second, cyber safety is defined as the safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). In other words, cyber safety involves measures promoting the safe usage of the internet so as to protect against malware and other forms of attack. Third, cyber awareness is related to understanding the potential threats to safety and the knowledge and skills of users to avoid cyber risks.
With regard to my current teaching at Phan Dinh Phung high school, I often educate students about the importance of cyber security and raise their awareness about cyber safety. In the time of Covid-19 pandemic, most of the students in Vietnam have to learn online and they they’re more prone to click on malicious links or attachments without thinking while searching information for assignments. Some useful pieces of advice for students while using the internet are avoiding clicking on suspicious links, using strong passwords or posting sensitive personal information publicly. When students are well-educated about cyber protection, they are definitely responsible and cautious in using the internet safely.
