Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or do you think they should be taught?
From my perspective, there are a wide variety of differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety.
- Cyber security is protecting computers, networks, programs and data through robust computer science technology and system.
- Cyber awareness is building our knowledge, attitudes and behavior in protecting our information and assets.
- Cyber safety is managing and collaborating online safety and responsibly.
I think these handy programs should be taught in the classrooms for secondary students for the following reasons. While online learning provides so many positive opportunities for learners and teachers alike, it is more important than ever to strengthen cyber security defenses to deal with new and emerging attacks.
Cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety, these programs do help provide teachers, parents and students with the information they need to indentify common cyber threats to helps them safely use our private information and assets in daily life.
Along with learning other subjects in class, teachers can arrange to teach cyber security-related knowledge once a week.
